From The Underworld (Kirk/Spock Slash - Angst Alert!)

Pure angst inspired by the notion that Kirk is an Orpheus who eventually gets his Eurydice back from the Underworld.
Unfortunately, this otherwise brilliant song by The Herd is not based on the anarchistic K/S version of the myth we know from ST III, so there's not much room for a happy ending here. That's why I made it a "Wrath of Khan" video instead of a "Search for Spock" one, although the latter is the obvious Underworld sequence of the ST saga. Of course, the lyrics don't quite match the events of ST II, so I had to make a few compromises.
Enjoy the song at least, because it must be one of the finest less known 1960s classics. (BTW, that is a very very young Peter Frampton singing there - only 17, would you believe?)

Yeah, STIII is Orpheus and Eurydice with a happy ending for sure. I picked up on that when I first saw it (I was ten years old watching my parents' old VHS tapes from the 80s). It confused me a lot until I finally understood the notion of slash when I got to high school. Then the parallel made more sense. Of course, I've always been a bit of a mythology nerd even when I was tiny.

Naphatarie, it was indeed Farfalla's mention of that analogy that inspired me to make this vid. (Heh, and it was the idea of combining ST and this song that in turn made me check the rest of my Herd collection with K/S in mind; therefore, logically, I should thank Farfalla for inspiring all my Herd vids! Anyway, her K/S site is wonderful.)
