Will Self has the keen oratorical ability to speak directly through people. There is an inhibited force that drives the thoughts and ideas in quick conjunction through the questioner, rendering concepts anew like some sort of psychically painful alchemy.

I think the reason Will Self got so much attention is because the media and journalists essentially occupy a self regarding world in which their own microcosm assumes a great deal of importance because they report the news and thereby partake in the belief that the act of reporting the news is news in itself. This is not necessarily the case, but is the reason for storms in teacups and some of the more blatant media whoring for stories that goes on in this country.
