I love the yellow and red bell peppers and they are so expensive in the stores and not always real fresh. So, I grow them here in Tallahassee, Florida. Production starts in yearly Summer and continues, sometimes, into January...all depending when there is a hard freeze. Started growing vegatables in my original home town of Pahokee, Florida

  • The yellow ones start out as green?

  • @nottinmatterz2day Yes, the yellow and red start out green.

  • I apply Miricle Grow 20-20-20 every two weeks. They are trully with the extra care to have nice thick skin and no age wrinkles that you find in the store.

  • Commercial growers do not stake. The limbs are very weak and break easily when there is a HEAVY pepper on it. So short or tall it is best to support the limbs. Remember that for a lot of growers the season is not as long as what I enjoy in Tallahassee....further south it is too hot in the Summer and further north they get a freeze earlier. My season starts in March and goes .....with a little luck into January. With the price of yellow and red peppers.....I try to protect every one of them.

  • hello, i just came across your video and I was wondering how you got your pepper plants so big? Did you add anything to them? I find that when I try to grow bell peppers, they do not get to full size like when you buy them in the store. Any suggestions>

  • @djr10djr I buy my plants locally that come from Bonnie Plants. I keep them watered and fertilize with 20-20-20 Miricle Grow about every two weeks. The plants on the South end of the rows are the ones that grow tall. Most of the peppers are nice size and have a thick skin.

  • @JTuesday777 what cost about 1.50 in the store? The 5 gallon pots or the peppers? and what store!!! lol Im trying to get plastic pots and dont know where to find them..I dont like clay pots, they break. :(

  • I'm going to take your miracle gro 20-20-20 advice when I start my pepper crop next wk. We tried last yr & all we got were a very small amount of tiny thin walled peppers. Florida's natural soil I guess just isn't fit for bell peppers. We assumed it was because our habenero peppers (naturally thin-walled) do VERY well in the same soil. Going to try them in drained 5-gallon containers with your method. They cost about 1.50 each in the store - ridiculous b/c we use them ALOT in our house!

  • @DonPickett that would be a pratical joke to switch someones red bell pepper seeds with green ones

  • Mmmmmmmmmmm

  • damn look at those red peppers!

  • These capsicums look amazing. I grew some from seed last year and had them in containers so I could bring them in during the winter. Its half way through our winter now (in in New Zealand) and ive got them in my bathroom under fluro lights. They are going awesome and I even hand pollinated and have capsicums growing. I'd love to see them grow this big. I didn't even know they could grow this size. The size of the trunks are amazing. How old are these capsicums?

  • Great plants I hope mine get that big
