And of course not only racist but culturally hegemonic. Boston will of course tolerate gays well before blacks as long as the gays are at least moderately well-behaved, natch.

It's such an outmoded way of being, but it will always be that way here. Just as Judge Woodlock told Chuck Turner to face the music I am telling him to face the music as well.

I'm allowed to do that as a U.S. Citizen, and so are you.

And as a former State Attorney I know it when I see it. And the lapdog media just sucks it right up. I know that because I used to write for a large daily and edit a large weekly before law school.

thank you for your video- i am really angry about what was done to chuck turner. i live far away now, and am suprised by how upset i've been about it- but then, injustice and rascism are upsetting.

@tyler9jack9 Somebody has to document this, and given my background I would be just that person. I know Harvey Silverglate has published some of the documents like the sentencing memorandum online and I plan to get to that shortly as well, including some of the support letters. These are bad people doing bad things under the name of the law.

I have to laugh when Ortiz says "Chuck Turner is no Rosa Parks." Does she know nothing about how the FBI illegally persecuted civil rights activists? Putting past civil rights activists on a pedestal while continuing to persecute present day ones is truly Orwellian.

Other politicians may be corrupt, but that doesn't justify making a whipping boy out of Chuck Turner while white politicians guilty of much more sinister crimes go free.

@peopleunite I just ripped that racist little tart Michelle McPhee over at the blog, she was busy celebrating Chuck Turner's sentencing the same way the Herald celebrated when they helped the DOC Union get rid of John Boone, they called him "Boon the Coone." I cannot believe that Casey Sherman is business partners with scum like McPhee and Howie Carr.

@peopleunite I have to cry, particularly when you look at this man, in the latter third of his life, who gave more to his community than any one person you can name in recent Boston history, and how the Prosecution even minimized THAT in its Pleadings and oral arguments at sentencing. I'm here to document it.
