Brad Lovas (www.penntownoutdoors.com) lands a nice female steelhead while fishing walnut creek. He was using a white roostertail and it's all on video!

  • It's Walnut creek - not Elk. This spot is upstream from the mouth of Walnut (at the trestles). 3 of us landed a total of 61 Steelies in the three days at this spot. We went the next year and did not land as many. This was a new spot for us to get away from the large number of fisherman concentrated at the mouth and Manchester hole. The fishing trip report and videos can be found on PennTownOutdoors if you are interested.

  • What month was that?

  • It was October 27th.

  • PA Steelhead fishing (not angling) has become so overloaded with meatheads who form a human snagging wall so that fish barely have a chance to make it upstream anymore. They aren't biting on your treble hooks folks, they're running into them. I had such an awful experience on Walnut Creek last year that I will never fish the PA tribs again. Not with a 5:1 moron:angler ratio.
