Although only a few years old, the existing large timber framed swing doors to the North and South entries of this commercial office building in Sydney's Norwest Business Park were deemed too impractical. The search was then undertaken for a suitable revolving door, that could importantly maintain an airlock into the building, whilst still providing emergency egress and bulky goods access to the large internal space.
After careful consideration, and AGP Duotour Series door was selected as an ideal replacement. This door offers the unique advantage of being able to convert from a revolving door, to a full time automatic sliding door, at the turn of a key. This offers the building manager the choice between maintaining an airlock during inclement weather, or using the automatic sliding doors during pleasant weather, or when large traffic flows require quick egress from the building.
AGP's scope of works included the removal of the existing timber doors and fixed glazing, as well as the necessary flooring works to accommodate the new doors. The adjacent swing door and beautiful timber portal frame was maintained. The works were completed by AGP tradesmen, one entrance after the other, over two and a half weeks.
I don't understand the point of revolving doors, isn't it more efficient to just have a regular door?
