another synth demo, this time of the cz3000 - my favorite digital non-sampling synth so far. All sounds heard were made on this quirky 80s beast (with some help from some samplers and sequencers and a little reverb)

  • hey dude please tell how to program the 3:17 solo sound....

  • @johnpopes dunno, I just play around till I find something I like

  • Yup, the genesis has a yamaha fm chip in it. It's a similar one if not the same one as the fb01 - only problem with that thing is you can't program it from the front panel - only sysex. Good luck with the juno. I've got a juno 1 I like too. Check out the ensoniq esq-1/esqm/sq80 if you like cheap 80s synths - it's got the 8 bit sound chip from an appleIIgs going through curtis analog filters. pretty sweet.

  • thanks, yeah, I'm only really comparing it to a fb01, k1, and ht700 as those are the other digitals I've owned.

My dual mode button is going - haven't tried fixing it yet. If it's an enclosed switch it might need replacing - if it's just a trace on the circuit board with a conductive pad on the switch a little scotch brite and deoxit would probably do the trick. I might replace this with a cz101 some day to take up less space.

  • can you post the preset for the lead that enters on 3:17?

  • dude I want one. sounds so awesome. are the drums from the casio too?

  • @pierceforrest Thanks mate i'll have a look into that. My Alpha Juno 2's battery also said it needed changing last time I put it away lol, hope its still alive xD

Hadn't heard of the other keyboards/rack you mentioned, they look quite fun, if a tad basic, except for the FB01 which looks like you can get some good stuff out of. Some guys done a sound sample vid and it sounds just like a Sega Genesis.

  • Nice man, I do agree it has some tasty tones, not necessarily my favourite tho ;]

Lovin the D'n'B style drum fills!

my CZ-3000's glide key's broken atm :/ - Any tips on how to, if you've had to open it before and change buttons?
