Oil, Sweat and Rigs celebrates the dangerous and necessary work of the American oil industry. One of the most dangerous jobs in the world, these guys have to travel out into the Gulf of Mexico, and assemble 100 foot derricks on top of the platforms.

  • 200 feet??? I seen a vid with 2 guys climbing 1700 feet!!!

  • lol, these guys are at 200 feet WITH safety lines. There's a video where 2 people climb up a 1700 foot transmission tower WITHOUT safety lines.

  • Could have killed someone dropping a bolt? Where is the safety perimeter that should seal off of the area below? And safety lines for their tools? Thats normal work enviroment standards when working in heights. Rednecks.

  • This is the stinkiest and most rudest rig in the GOM! Talk about lack of social skills! It's okay though, this type of rig is being phased out and is the only one left.

    Rig=Drilling.

    No such thing as a drilling platform or a production rig.

  • The Oil company couldn't afford to buy a new tower? Why are people under the tower when they are working aloft?
