Make your living off the land and you can truly make something of yourself, your family — and a nation. No other truck understands this simple truth better than Ram.

And on the eighth day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said I need a caretaker- So God made a Farmer

God said I need somebody willing to get up before dawn, milk the cows, work all day in the field, milk cows again, eat supper then go to town and stay past midnight at a meeting of the school board -- So God made a Farmer

God said I need somebody willing to sit up all night with and newborn colt, and watch it die, then dry his eyes and say maybe next year. I need somebody who can shape an axe handle from a persimmon sprout, shoe a horse with a hunk of car tire, who can make a harness out of hay wire, feed sacks and shoe straps, who at planting time and harvest season will finish his forty hour week by Tuesday noon and then, paining from tractor back, will put in another 72 hours -- So God made a Farmer

God said I need somebody strong enough to clear trees and heave bales, yet gentle enough to tame lambs and pigs and tend to pink combed pullets; who will stop his mower for an hour to splint the broken leg of a meadowlark. -- So God made a Farmer

It had to be somebody who'd plow deep and straight and not cut corners; somebody to seed, weed, feed, breed, and rake and disk and plow and plant and tie the fleece and strain the milk. Somebody who would bale a family together with the soft, strong bonds of sharing; who would laugh and then sigh, and then reply with smiling eyes when his son says he want to spend his life doing what dad does -- So God made a Farmer

Chrysler, of which Ram Trucks is a subsidiary, is now a majority Italian owned company. And most of the Ram Trucks themselves are actually built in Mexico. So trying to associate this "All American" image with the trucks, which seems to be the main purpose of this add, seems questionable to me.

The 2013 Ram 1500 is built at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant (Warren, Mich.), which has built more than 12.5 million trucks since it started operations in 1938. Regular Cab models of the 2013 Ram 1500 are built at the Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant in Saltillo, Mexico.

The folks at Jeep/Chrysler have got themselves pretty much THE BEST advertising on television. They did it with the Jeep Grand Cherokee Manifesto commercial, they did it with the "Imported from Detroit" Eminem commercial, and with the "Halftime in America" ad, and they did it again with this one.

All of these ads touch something in Americans that too often lies buried in guilded cynicism, anymore.

I'm not quick to judge anything. I don't comment on YouTube videos very often, except in a positive way. This one turned my stomach, it was so hypocritical and such an abuse of the original speech. "So predictable" of you to make it personal though. My Christian friends were horrified at this ad. It was one place the Christians and atheists stood together, out of respect for beliefs, and the sickening use of both farmers and religion in this advertisement. But go buy Dodge if it worked for you.

I don't see it as a gimmick; I see it as a shameless attempt to leverage something that is both good and emotional, for the purposes of selling more product. And also abusing the Lord's name for more sales. "If you're religious or want to support farmers, buy Dodge." Yeah. Ethical fail.
