Apparently you've never watched "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and checked out the character of I.Y. Yunioshi played by, of course, Mickey Rooney. Makes LDD look positively politically correct.

Funny Asians are funny. It's not a bad thing, it's hard to explain. Another stereotype is that Asians are really smart. How is that offensive? Embrace your racial stereotypes and people won't think you're such a prude. Everyone likes a black guy who openly loves fried chicken. Another black stereotype is that they're good athletes. Again, not so offensive. White people's stereotypes? - we're all fat, uneducated, racist, hillbillies, elitist, conceited. Think about it.

ah fuck it, this is a no win argument anyway.... i'll just admit that i am completely unaffected by stereotype characters in media. you can raise the specter of it being because I'm white, but if you hate me because i wasn't racially discriminated all i can say is: just wait, because being the white man will make me the center of hate even if i did nothing specifically to deserve it. then the white will be the discriminated, they will fight for civil rights and the cycle will continue.

It's because a bunch of racists, racial apologists and others cut from that same cloth are playing their con game in order to perpetuate the racist status quo.

That's ridiculous. Even if he didn't think it wasn't racist, that still doesn't mean it wasn't. There are plenty of racist roles coming from Hollywood, it's been like that for decades and they still come out now. Just because a minority actor or actress plays that role doesn't validate it. It's like when whites will ask one member of a minority if their racist "joke" was OK and if that persons responds affirmatively they'll say, "See, that one person said it's OK, so it's OK."

It was a big deal back then, maybe not to you and the millions of others living in denial and perpetuating the racial status quo. White trash stereotypes don't have anywhere near the same effect on whites as do stereotypes of minorities do on minorities. White society differentiates between "white trash" and "regular" whites, but lumps one member of a minority race with all other members. Furthermore, Asian-American men are alienated in Hollywood, largely left out except for "Long Duk Dong"roles

Lol I find the racism hysterical. "change the sheets after he leaves" - lol why? Because he's Asian.
