Synopsis
'Listen' is an animation created for this year's Clean & Green Week. With the year's slogan of "Stay Cool, Go Green" in mind, our team produced an animation that targets the youth, with emphasis to bring out the 'coolness' of being environmentally friendly. A hip-hop influenced character was created as our mascot which the youth can easily relate to, to better promote the Clean & Green Week in an interesting and 'cool' manner.

The character is conceptualized to be a representation of a youth without environmental consciousness, as shown when he absent-mindedly litters a soda can. He then plugs in to his mp3 player and grooves to his cool music, immersed in his world of music. His musical world represented by the music visualizations, hint of the activities that are polluting the environment in the real world, of which the character is oblivious to. He fails to realise that the noises that he is grooving to are, in fact, Earth's signs of distress.

When the batteries of his mp3 player eventually run out, it is as though the Earth is finally unable to cope with the pollution that we have been causing; and the mayhem of harmful effects eventually sets in, as the cacophony of noises reaches a thunderous peak.

The character then regrets his previous irresponsible and flippant act of littering, and corrects his mistake by picking up and disposing off his litter properly (animation clip rewinds back to the time when he littered). At the end of the animation clip, the audience is reminded that 'Not everything has a rewind button'. Some of our actions that pollute and harm the environment have eternal and irreversible effects, hence reiterating the message, 'Stay Cool, Go Green!'
