Burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese speaks to Sarfraz Manzoor about her profession. How did she get into striptease? What are her views on glamour and on artificial beauty? What does she represent to her female audience - and is she on a one-woman mission to corrupt America?

  • Don't you just love this woman? She's a perfection. She's beautiful, sexy but still lady-like, and she's just NOT a pretty face without a brain. She's soooo smart. I always look up to her. I totally agree that we can whoever we want to be. I also love artificial. GO DITA : D

  • The guy interviewing is such an arse, he obviously looks down on her. If I was her I would've put him in his place.

  • That guys is a douche bag. You go, Ms. Von Tease.

  • I love her.

  • I want my hair like hers. I love it!

  • @auroragingerkitty I think he asks a lot of great questions that may be controversial. I don't think he was looking down on her. What a great interview.

  • omg i have fallen in love

  • she's making herself a sexual object to guys? erm no, guys are a sexual object to her. When she dances, she lets the audience know that she's the boss, and that they can look but they can't touch. That's exactly what sets burlesque apart from stripper pole dancing, stupid man.

  • @dpREDDJOAN How do you know what she's thinking? She never said she was doing anything great, merely that she was doing what she wanted to do, despite what the fact that others judge her for it. I think she's completely right. People say that she's objectifying herself and the act of striping is antifeminist but judging her and telling her she shouldn't is restricting her right as a person and as a woman to do what she wants. If that's performing a strip tease, so be it.

  • @dpREDDJOAN She was very coherent and put him in his place while still acting like a lady. What about her do you find so offensive?

  • LOVE DITA!!!!!!!she is an inspiration for just being what she always wanted to be! i mean honestly not many people are brave enough to dress the way they want and be the way they want because so many other cluless people are going to call the weird or unconventional and she does this whole burlesque 50's pin'up thing and she is absolutely magnificent!!!(at last to my eyes she is!)

  • has this guy ever heard of a barber?
