We had one of those (exact same model) wired into our 77 Nova's AM radio. Wasn't a bad format but not very portable (like cassettes). They were still used in my college's radio station for PSA's during the 90's
I especially like the cartoon logo animation at the end. There wasn't any computer graphics that sophisticated back then as far as I know. I got lucky and found a 12 tape 8-track carousel player that plays all 12 tapes one at a time and it's completely automated mechanically. It's called a Qatron ( no u). Mine has the lid even. A lucky find one Saturday morning at a thrift store abnormally packed with people. Somehow I think kids scattered it around & I was the lucky one who found it. Paid$5
