I would not be so critical of our counterparts since I know how hard it is to do interview for the first time. Although I would highly suggest to rehearse more in the future and make the conversation more structured and really work on content. For example, if you like UK higher education elaborate more on advantages and disadvantages of both systems, how they select students to make sure the international student body is high performing and diverse at the same time.
