@zeppelinator appreciation for "real song writing" is on the wane. Just like appreciation for real art.... people are more interested in rehashing and copying what's out there. It's easier. Nothing wrong with that... but there is a core competency that is lost. Stephen Merritt (Magnetic Fields) represents the old school of "real song writing". People who really think about the emotional response to songs and words and how they intermix, like Bacharach, Lennon, Nilsson... not many left like that.

Really dig the video. Is it just me, or do the Magnetic Fields have a really artsy fan base? I've seen so many cool videos of kids doing very interesting stuff using their songs. I really love it.
