i think you should learn the EWI first, since it is easier to play, because you don't need a specific embouchure to get good tone. you really wouldn't need a teacher, the manual it comes with has fingering charts, and since you don't need reeds or an embouchure or anything, that would be all you need.

don't learn clarinet first, the ewi doesn't respond to clarinet fingerings.

the ewi responds to saxophone fingerings, flute, oboe, and traditional ewi fingerings, and EVI(electronic valve instrument)

if anything, learn saxophone fingerings, they are the most commonly used.

Hi there: Just got my ewi usb out of the box and my sounds aren't ANYTHING like that. I'm not a tekkie person, so I suppose I need so assistance in regards to setting up the various "levels" for lack of a better term, on the Aria. Please advise. Thanks, KB

Hí, Bernie, Tenorsound was not so good, sorry! Barythone was better! Flute is the easyest sound to play! Oboe OK and good. Clainet sound almost perfect! Bas clarinet Great Jazz trumpet, not so good, harmon was so and so! Flugelhorn, almost, just almost OK! ( lessen to my flugel and harmon recordings) Base, like it! Violins, great! Great synt instrumenet, I will get one soon! Thank´s for sharing info.

@berniesax56 hey i also have a Akia EWI USB.. but am using a Windows 7... its giving me delays on it.. its really annoying,, can u tell me what might be the program? my laptop is a HP G71 series!! i'll look it if u can help me out please!!

Thank you for great videos and so much info on all the Akai EWIs .. Because of you is one reason I got my Akai EWI 4000s .. (bernie you are always so kind on your videos, and I just love my EWI 4000s I plan to get the EWI USB also.. I am also thinking of Las Vegas seminar.. ThankYou again.. My Regards TotallyKenny....
