Ohhh I love the sound in a smart disel

0-100 km/h in 14 seconds. I think,14 seconds for a 3 cylinder engine it's AWESOME!

I love this car.

Part 2 of 2 .... Apparently, according to our Mercedes-Benz mechanic - the older CDI engines have some flaws in them - which Mercedes-Benz is being abit reluctant to admit about. We have been given a $9K Cdn bill for new engine if they can't repair engine - which we can't afford - so may have to walk away from car - sob - but I'm taking the stero system with me if we do that. I love my Smart - but not if it causes this much aggro. Hope MB has improved on their engines since 2006 models!

Nice - maybe with my defunct CDI engine in my 2006 Smart ForTwo - Mercedes-Benz may put this engine in my new car (without my having to pay too much for it). Currently my Smart diesel engine is kaput - being torn apart today - day 4 with the mechanics trying to figure out why the engine did what it did last w/e. So far compression test has revealed #1 cyclinder isn't working - other 2 are. part 1 of 2 post

Can you make a video of the whole interior and outside of the car? Great video, I never knew the smart CDI could accelerate that fast!
This weekend i drove the 40kw cdi and it's really a much quicker car then the 33kw. Much more power on the highway and really quick enough. (I drive a 62kw petrol currently so I didn't expect that.) 40kw engine is really good!

@Smart4two: Yeah the torque is really there in the low rpm's where you spend most of the time. Also the 3'th and 4'th gear has been improved from the 33kw. It felt like there was a huge gap between 4'th and 5'th in the 33kw

Nice vid! Cool to see that the 40kw is much quicker then the 33kw. More then you would expect. How is your mileage? Can you drive below 4 liter/100km?

Mileage is 4.75l/100km driven carefully in city environment during sub-zero temperatures. A litte less than expected - but lets see when the summer comes.

Summer update: Managed to achieve 3,8l/100km, by avoiding highways, short trips and braking(lol)
