I don't think that's a different G1 at all, it looks the same as all the other White G1's I've seen.

Actually the palm pre isn't better then the G1. The G1 is pretty amazing, the main problem with that build is that it requires more RAM, which the Hero (AKA G3) Phone has in it. The G1 can't actually run it like it should. Imagine running Windows Vista on 2.3 GHz Machine with only 512 MB of RAM. Same thing, it runs but very slowly. Any computer based system runs into this issue, even when I over clocked my G1.
Though, don't base it off of us tech people experimenting, the G1 is awesome!
