The Road is a 2009 drama film directed by John Hillcoat and written by Joe Penhall. Based on the 2006 novel of the same name by American author Cormac McCarthy, the film stars Viggo Mortensen and Kodi Smit-McPhee as a father and his son in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

and you know what, this movie is not far from reality. The whole world is in bad shape right now: Economical collapse, war preparations with Iran (and Israel, Russia and China getting involve), overpopulation, etc...get ready people while you still can.

This is the most beautiful and heart hitting film I've ever seen. After I saw it I have changed my relations to my sons and family.

I have watched the first few minutes of this movie many times without being able to get past the screen door. The pretty pictures of birds and flowering trees. The pretty woman. The man with his horse. And then the screen door slowly closes on it: That's it, all done, kiss it goodbye - That's the last you will ever see of the Earth's beauty. That screen door closing is brilliant.
