@BlackhoundOne There are ways to make demon's gate easier. Most importantly, if you have Barrett or Yuffie, then put them in the backrow if they are using a long-range weapon. If you have the long range materia then give that to your strongest attacker and then stick them in the back row too. (Probably best to put Aerith there too)). Lastly, use a tranquliser on your characters if you can (or at least ones have low HP) to be them in sadness. Sadness reduces damage taken... very useful indeed.

@BlackhoundOne Well, actually you have a few options... none of which involve you starting the game again or using an editing programme. The best thing to do to build up your levels a bit is to go into the room where you fought Red Dragon and train there. The guy outside will heal your HP/MP and if you are having trouble with the fights in that room then you should have Bahamut materia. Just make sure you don't train anywhere near the level in this video or you'll ruin the game.

demon gate really is easy even if you suck at ff7 as long as you took the time to get the lvl 3 limit breaks for some of your characters. meteorain is awesome if you dont have omni. also yuffie's lvl 3 limit break hits multiple times so if you get high strength on her with champion belt its real good.

I remember how long it used to take me to do this fight, then i did a no materia play through and beat him in 3-4 turns with limit breaks.

Did you record this on your cell phone??
Please help, I've gotten stuck here. I saved just after the scene where Cait Sith offers to sacrifice his puppet body to get the black materia. Now the clock room will only point at 12, so I can't get any encounters to level up, and I don't have enough HP or power to beat him...
Any ideas?

@BlackhoundOne for psx: the only thing i can recommend is starting again and gaining levels at these points: the small forest just after nibelheim mountains (cloud, barret, aeris/aerith) and do the wutai event (cloud, barret or cid, aeris/aerith), then use the wutai areas to level up. for pc: use a save editing programme (eg jenova) to beef up your characters a little

thats good but i always save my limits for the gate - sometimes if i forget to rearrange my party i get wiped out.
