@theftgrand1 The early stuff is alot better then the later stuff. Yes, Spawn is Black- he was a soldier/assasin for the government who died, and went to hell for the murders he commited. There he made a deal with the devil to be his Hellspawn, his mortal agent and soldier on earth, killing the wicked and sending their souls to hell to strengthen Satan's army. McFarlane screwed the pooch later when he took up writing duties, the early stuff is much much better.
