As G8 and EU ministers gather in Berlin Germany last month to discuss energy efficiency measures, Greenpeace activists used a mechanised road roller to crush ten thousand energy-wasting light bulbs at the Brandenburg Gate. Greenpeace is demanding tough European efficiency standards for energy using products, and an immediate ban on incandescent light bulbs.

  • Greenpeace is a leftwing radical terrorist organisation.

  • Compact florescent bulbs use half the electrical power then incandescant bulbs, and they put out half as much light.

  • @stickedU oh pleaseee, ur actually comparing the right to use light bulbs to wearing seat belts?? How much more moronic things are u gona say?? Maybe u like being the governements bitch but most ppl prefer to choose freely in how to light their homes. all u liberals go crazy when we speak out the truth about choosing for ourselves. as i told u b4, if cfls were that good, congress wouldnt be forcing them on us. Since u dont appreciate ur freedom, get the hell out of the US

  • Ok first you idiots, saying you want the right to choose what bulb to use is like being upset that there is a law that requires you to wear a seatbelt. You same people get pissed that you should have the right to choose whether you want to die in a car accident. Wake up! I replaced all of my bulbs in my house with LEDS and CFLS you stupid fukers, I cannot wait until those dirty sick incandesant bulbs. Also dont bring up the mercury bullshit, coal contains mercury-incad. bulbs burn more coal.....

  • @noreaga12326 Thats so true.

When was the last pro-fuel video, or pro light bulb video, or pro something that is not environmentally friendly video with comments removed or set to approval?

  • @ostapslobodian whats funny is that this moron of a "greenie" has another video where comments wont be accepted unless APPROVED. In other words, they will only approve your comments if you dont disagree with what this religious nut case is saying about "energy wasted bulbs"

  • PART 2/2

And also DON'T punnish the people who use incandescent bulbs, instead reward the people who use CFLs/LEDs.

It's not that using more power is costing you, it's costing them! So if they want to pay %90 more for lighting power, let them!

  • PART 1/2

Incandescent bulbs should not be banned.

If you want "better lights", promote them, educate about them, change the bulk of lights on sale to CFL or other, give them out for free (I got 2 CFLs from an environmentalist for free, and I'm using it right now), don't just ban the competition!

  • @dsouth01 yeah thats probably true. maybe they are just making a big debate out of this but they say that parts of europe and other countries are all stuck with using CFLs. Hopefully our governments here in the US are a bit smarter than that

  • @dsouth01 ur probably right about that. I have heard conflicting stories about this. I've also heard by watching videos that incandenscents will continue to be available, as long as they're more efficient because there are places where incandecents are needed and where cfls dont work. i have also heard that incandescent flood lights are not included in the phase out.
