Tofael Ahmed - After the election of the 1970, Bangabandhu became the only leader.

On 7th March at 2 am my leader Sherajul Alam Khan and I went to meet Bangabandhu. Bangabandhu was on the upper stair. Keeping his hands on our shoulders, he was talking to us. The Shearjul Alama Khan told Bangabandhu "Leader, today people will not accept anything but the clear declaration of independence". Removing his hands Bangabandhu replied, "Sheraj, I am the leader of the people. I will lead them, they will not lead me. Go and do your duty". Angrily Bangabandhu moved out from there.

Those who claim credit for hoisting the flag, announcing the independence etcetera would not have got the chance to do so if the election of 1970 was not there.

If the election of 1970 was not been won, how they would have hoist the flag and how Ziaur Rahman would have got the chance to announce the independence at Chittagong?

Siddiqu SAliq, ublic relation officer of General Niaji, wrote in his book, "Immediately after the first shot I heard the voice of Sheikh Mujib". He also wrote that at a frequency closer to the frequency of the Radio Pakistan he heard the thin voice of Sheikh Mujib who was declaring the independence of Bangladesh announcing its status as the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh.

Claiming credit for something like the NUCLEUS does not make sense.

The "White House situation room spot report" stated, "Pakistan was thrust into civil war today when Sheikh Mujibur Rahman proclaimed the east wing of the two-part country to be "the sovereign independent People's Republic of Bangla Desh." Fighting is reported heavy in Dacca and other eastern cities where the 10,000 man paramilitary East Pakistan Rifles has joined police ...".

In these two reports, in the book of David Lasa everywhere Bangbabandhu's name is mentioned.

People now claiming credit for the NUCLEUS. If anyone other than Sheikh Mujib was that important why their name were not mentioned in Yahya Khan's speech? On the 26th in his speech Yahya Khan said, "Mujib is a traitor. This time Mujib will not go unpunished. He wanted to fell me in trap".
