  • The key of Gflat actually has six (6) flats b/cos the B note is written and read as a Cflat since the black key below it is in use, and considered a Bflat. So since the C is not in use, the B is promoted to that space or line and assigned a flat. Also the name of key Gsharp is never used in the key of Gflat major. It is called Aflat instead. Actually before the invention of the equal temperament, those were totally different keys and could never be called one for the other.
