The lyrics are taken from a poem found in Dream Of The Red Chamber. Red beans speak about romance. Hence this Red Bean Poem is a poem about love. The music is by 刘雪庵, Liu Xue An, the man who wrote Teresa Teng's signature tune, "When will you come back?" (何日君再来？)

The lyrics are poetic - no wonder Dream of The Red Chamber is a classic.

Carreras' Chinese is pretty good and he sang with just the right emotions - very impressive performance.

Wow! I have never heard him sing in Chinese before! I've heard him sing in Japanese, but this is a nice surprise! How many languages can this guy sing? He doesn't sing stuff like this too often. I'm used to hearing him sing in English, Italian, Spanish, French, German and his native Catalan.
