Continuing the request by "flokatirug", "travis7310", and "amensity", it's Showcase time on #5992D!

The "Star Trek" Movie/"Next Generation" theme is used in Showcase #2, and was common during the 1980s and early 1990s...and I suspect they got sick of paying royalties to Gene Roddenberry/Paramount around the same time they got sick of paying Henry Mancini for the "Pink Panther" theme in Safecrackers.)

This segment and the results were REALLY stitched together, but I attempted to separate them so as to fit the then-standard 10-segment format.

  • Hi..Julie here (the winner of this showcase showdown)..My daughter found this on-line!! Incredible!!! Just goes to show you, anything from your life can end up on the internet...

BTW all the prizes are long gone..sold most of them and traveled through Europe for 3 months!!!!

  • @julielgordon Congratulations, Julie! Glad I could help you relive some great memories. :)

(Also, this part is the Showcase. The "Showcase Showdown" is the Big Wheel. Don't worry -- it's a common mistake. :)

  • I thought Janice usually was the "space model"....also I'm assuming the tape so that she could change into her costume.

  • Actually, it looks like Dian is modeling the rug and/or dune buggy in Showcase #1.

I get Janice and Dian confused sometimes, similar to how I confuse Janice and Anitra -- or Anitra and Dian.

  • TPiR Time Capsule is probably my favorite 'Classic' showcase theme.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • @julielgordon Hey Julie, I actually started this episode on the trading circuit ten years ago and for a period of 4 or 5 years it was the only episode of The Price is Right I had taped. Sorry to hear the prizes are long gone but then again, unless you live near water, what in the world are you going to do with a sport boat? Congratulations on the win especially with a bid that well.
