I played against Pearl when I was at Canarsie High School. I'm telling you he disappeared before my eye's when I tried to check him on defense. I'm not lying. He's was that quick!
I'm sure everyone's got their own favorite, but I've been watching SU Hoops for over 30 years and Pearl Washington is still, to me, the greatest Orangeman ever. What he could do with a basketball was nothing short of magical and his knack for coming up big when we needed it most was epic. He lived for the big moments.
