  • This is legendary Suha Bandish of Ustad Zahur Bakhsh Khan "Ramdas Ji" of the famous Khurja Gharana. Pandit Abhishekhi learnt many memorable compositions from the great Gayan Samrat Ustad Azmat Hussain Khan Dilrang, whose birth centenary is bieng celebrated this year as "Classical Gems"

  • This is my most favorite rendering... Wow!!!

  • Is this Raaga in Asawari thaat? sounds so siimlar to darbari kanada...

  • Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki was one of the most learned vocalists in India. He had an extensive knowledge of all aspects of classical singing and his huge repertoire of different gharanas that he was influenced by. But his initial training was with Ustad Azmat Hussain Khan Saheb, the doyen of Jaipur-Atrauli/Khurja gharana. In this particular recording you can hear the frequent use of boltans- short aggressive taans coming to the "sama" which was a speciality of this gharana.
