A short film piece following the journey of two friends as they seek out the existence of the "pure memory" that which has not been photographed and as such has not been altered by the photograph itself. With a cinematic feel this film also incorporates the use of handheld video cameras aiming to emphasise the audiences connection with the participating characters. These formats are also a direct reference to the YouTube era we now live in. With most of our handheld gadgets now capable of capturing video, this allows us to film snippets of our daily lives in the same way we once utilized the snapshot.

  • I hope i'm taller than Uranus.

  • @wierdbill you'll have to be measured

  • im sorry that you couldnt find some of the places from your child hood bu indeed in the process new memories were forged :D

I loved the camera angles that you used they were so interesting and added a completely different perspective rather than it being just a normal Vlog.

me and one of my friends have an idea for something like what you did only that we are planning on journeying up to Scotland and finding what is left of his Clan.

what camera are you using the Macro facility on it is insane!?

  • @GREATJOJOMAN lol... good job it came across of more than just a vlog... as it was for my final degree piece.

The macro was all shot on the small handheld cams i normally use, so in this case the kodak zi6 and zi8, they're amazing for the price.. and i'd highly recommend them. I thought maybe the mini cams shots would look shoddy next to the cinematic shots, which were all filmed on the Canon 7D .. but they really held their own.

Good to hear that you plan to go on a similar trip!

  • @pinkjessuk85 canon 7D *drools on keyboard*!

Im currently using a flip HD 2 for my green screen stuff and for my macro shots i use a Samsung F40. I thought the kodak zi range only used a fixed point focus like the flip cams?

  • @GREATJOJOMAN Nope both Zi models have a basic macro... just like another fixed point with shallower depth of field. Yeah that 7D its beautiful... i do love it so, i thought it was time for an upgrade... and it makes sense, i may prefer video but i'm still a photographer too... so just got something that can do both
