I am so pleased that this was sent to me via the group. Although the video quality is poor it does not diminish the high quality of this performance. Somewhere in my collection I have this performance also on VHS. One of my favs! Thank You

Dave Sanborn is a hot musician, but he's a boring-ass interviewer!

Bassist is Tom Barney as the above poster also said.

that's actually not marcus miller on bass. i don't remember who it is, but it's not him. although marcus was a member of the house band for a while. incidentally, it's omar hakim on drums. famous for his stints with several bands including sting.
i remember staying up late on sunday in high school to tape these on vhs. check out red hot chilli peppers and miles davis for some great performances on this show.

I remember seeing this on tv. Seeing Bootsy Collins was a revelation.

Four bass players on this song, but only three are playing. The bass players are: Steve Swallow (Solo), Tom Barney (house bass), and David Sanborn son. He's standing next to Tom Barney. Sorry I can't think of his name right now, and my VCR tape is around here somewhere. The bass play that didn't play was Bootsy Collins. My Man, what a way to add the Funk!
