Brian explains how simple fuel injection line heaters can make for an easy and affordable greasecar conversion to make diesel engines run on waste vegetable oil (WVO / SVO).

  • will that car last long time running on veg oil ?

  • @fridaynightovernight Diesel engines were actually made to run on peanut oil. So yes, as long as a car is well maintained and treated with love, the engine can last indefinitely.

  • i'm converting my 300sd in one week, can you please answer one question for me??????

if i do one tank system,. where i heat only the lines and 2nd fuel filter., when i shut off the car, will it do any damage to my old benz???

i get different answers everytime, ,i'm building my own system,. i'm not paying greasl $1000 for parts that cost less then $200

but i don't want to hurt my baby. I love my benz to death

  • Thanks for asking! But we are no experts and don't feel comfortable answering that for you. Brian (in the video) is of the mindset that "You can't hurt it!" If you're gettin' into the grease thing ... you better be a good mechanic. Best of luck!

  • This is some poor information.

    (1) adding injection line heaters is ONE part of a conversion. How is the oil being filtered? I can assure you, cold vegetable oil isn't going through your normal diesel filter unless you live in the tropics. If you think injector line heaters is all you need, you are probably going to shorten the life of your car considerably.

    (2) Greasecar is an actual company and they do actual conversions - not this

    (3) dumping unfiltered oil in your tank also a bad idea

  • Thank you for sharing the wealth of knowledge and the clarification for those viewers may not know better to fully investigate running a diesel car on Wate Vegetable Oil before getting into it.

    For further Clarification:

    1) This car is in Florida and operates beautifully year round with no other conversion.

    2) The WVO used is pre-filtered through 5 micron filters.

    3) We are very aware of "Greasecar" - the name has just become a common token brand name such as Kleenex and Band Aid.

  • bull shit , just filter your wvo and use a switch valee from disel to wvo then revers the process

oh ya use furnace oil hee hee

  • LOL I ripped all that out when I got mine! Can't start it when its cold. Then stay off the soy. Look for high end restaurants.

  • u need tube in tube preheater

  • Where did you buy the heat lines from? how much where they?where did you hook them up to make them get heat?

  • I appreciate the video, we need more videos. But what about shining some light on your engine. Nobody can see your set up. Not that I care, I like my design better. Fool proof, nothing electrical.

  • I'm no expert but from my reading if its a warm day and the car is hot you can get by with an hour and a half. However to be delux you should purge, run on diesel before shut down to make sure the injectors & pump are not full of SVO. Makes sense. I heard of people starting on SVO cold in the mid 30F at above temps. I would not do it. Where are you getting your $200 parts that sell for $1000? The VW TDI Kit has a nice round alum tank. May be $600 in parts or so for $1000.
