NASA is a one of the greatest American achievements and a part of our world history. For any person or country to be offered to be a part of NASA is a honor. Evaluation of a person's trustworthiness and social status based on that individual's espousals and actions.

Bottom line. American's want NASA to spend tax moneys on lunar outreach, not foreign outreach. We have a state department for that kind of thing. Duh.

Bolden should spend time at home. Not abroad. NASA is fading and he is in another country. American children need inspiration now more then ever!

Obama is de-enabling that mechanism of inspiration. And putting America's space program on hold with an unworkable policy that congress is rejecting!

@Kapitananime wrong. Spacex was working on manned craft and human rated rockets before NASA ever gave them a dime. Bigelow only got a couple of patents off NASA before it started on it's moduels. Obama is the best preident for NASA since Kennedy, and Kennedy had a space race, a motivated populace, and a powerhouse of an economy behind his NASA.

If you were making a sandwich and you realized it was going to take 2 weeks and three thousand dollars to finish and it might not even be edible when you do, would you keep making it even if you knew you could make a sandwich in 5 minutes that was just as good for less money than it would take to finish the other one?

The Constellation program was canceled because it was a step BACKWARDS in what we have technologically in terms of sub-oribital space exploration as well as space travel in general. Obama knew it was a waste of time, man power and most of all MONEY to perpetuate a stagnant, over funded, blatantly obvious smoke screen (Constellation) to make us think that's as far as we have become in nearly 50 years.

Why don't you tell us what he really meant then? How can you play those clips and decry what they said without explaining to us how it was obvious that he really meant something else.

This is where I get in my plug in.That ( exernal ) tank should contine to fly with the Space Shuttle until SpaceX can launch a human crew ! And a five section (external) tank as apart of the Ares V !!! The Ares V was designed to launch 180 tons to low Earth orbit and 70 tons to the Moon and beyond ! Why ? Why ? Go back to the drawing board ?!! To design yet another HLV ?!!

This is why Constellation should´nt have be canceled ! I have written before, if large rock was heading towards Earth !! Suddenly money would be found to get the Ares 1 and Ares V done !!!
