  • where can i get an RTS, Like really someone help

  • how did u find a 35 footer powered by the 8v71

  • oh yeah, I stand corrected!!!! The exhaust plumbing and whinny tranny really covers the throattyness of the 8V71!! Kudos

  • @remie4494: Um, this bus does have the 8V71 engine on the 35ft RTS. It was never repowered with the 6V92TA when it was formely owned by one of the transit agencies...

  • Here is a true DD8V71 listen to the diference Metro Transit Video: 1978 General Motors RTS-II #3336 (RTS-03)

  • Hmmm love this bus but that's not an 8V71 in there. It's a 6V92 repower. All 8V71 have heavy deep gurbles to their sound. And you will be very hard pressed to find an RTS with an original 8V in it.

  • If I can guess the build model its a "RTS" GMC TH-7603 and originally a "Slopeback" as they called it. Now....Oh YESSS these early models was a novelty in NYC and therefore, we treated ourselfs to them with all the delight in the world!!!! Enjoy your bus sir and I hope her 8V-71 hooked to the Allison V730 inside a 35 foot unit saves you some on her fuel sir!!! Excellent video,Thanks for Sharing!! More please?

  • @SpiritsoftheWolf I know thats right!!!!

  • All that power in a 35 foot RTS!! I love it!! Take care of it and it'll take care of you!

  • Oh my god, I truely miss hearing the roaring 8V71 powered GMC RTS buses... My city used to have the 1978 to 1980 GMC RTS buses 40ft that has the 8V71 engine with the Allison V-730 automatic; however, seventeen 35ft GMC RTS buses were 6V71 powered... The fleet were retired between 1997 and 1999 while some of them retired between 1991 and 1993... Fantastic video! Btw, can you record the interior of the bus next time?
