I heard this song on the radio back then when I was a kid as well. I recall being very moved by the fingerstyle work, but I also mistakenly thought it was James. By the time I figured out who Liv was, the record was out of print. So to this day I don't know whether it was really a fingerstyle piece or just a childhood impression.
The good news is that the guy at the record store who had to tell me it was out of print also turned me on to Michael Franks and a whole new aspect of bossa nova.
In 1974, as a 15 yr old with a whole lot of angst, I sat on the floor of a storefront coffeehouse and watched this man do this amazing wonderful old song. Suddenly, Life wasn't so bad and the anger left me. Thank you Liv for changing my life all those years ago and being the soundtrack to my life.

I first heard him sing this song many years ago. He still sings it great. Alittle differently than originally. But, man oh man, those Taylors sure are great storytellers and singers and songwriters!!!
