FALL HORSE TRAIL oval acrylic painting demo - Gary Garrett

I love to paint the trails at the end of Scott Road this time of year as the leaves are turning. Painted 1-5-08 using acrylics on a stretched oval canvas. My colors are presented on the stryofoam plate I use as a palette (makes cleaup easy). Towards the end of the film, I put in more sky color using a medium round brush, as bright light coming through leaves and branches often appears in rounded forms. This also opens up the space, little less stuffy.

It was time-lapsed using a Sony TRV25 in INTERVAL mode (1/2 second every 30 seconds).

Thanks for watching. I am using a Sony DVM-TRV25. It has an "Interval" feature that records 5 frames every 30 seconds on digital (DV) tape. Both the DVM-TRV25 & DVM-TRV27 have this feature. It's an older camera, can be picked up on ebay for around $175... it's nice as I just set it off to the side and let it do it's thing while i paint. When finished recording, I import it into my laptop, where it's mixed with titles, graphics and a sound track.
