This short excerpt from a 16-mm film called "The Garcia Story" shows the reels Garcia were selling in very early 1962. • i want a mitchell 314!!!!

  • @lukkbox

contact me through the Mitchell Reel Museum website, I may have one you'll like. Wallace

  • @FishingFilmHistory I am not a wealthy fisherman and as it looks like a collectors peice i'm fairly sure without even enquiring that one would be well outside my price range :O(

but i thank you kindly for the offer and as soon as i win the lottery i will be in touch, it is BEAUTIFUL!!

  • @lukkbox Besides the nostalgia and precious memory "values", vintage Mitchell reels are highly collectible due to the mass quantities produced thus making them affordable to almost everyone.

  • I have a pre-Garcia Mitchell 306 from 1958.

  • Thank you for sharing this video!

  • @darkmossie633 Really i have two lefthanded ( 410 .. 410a ) i think there are from 1945 1950

  • we have this yeahr 2010 and the mitchell 300 and the 308 is the best reel for perch and pike fishing its buduifull

  • although manufacturers (bar PENN it seems) have finally clued on, there are more

left-hand wind multipliers around, but they have lost potential of millions of $........'s in the last 40 years

  • sorry, but casting principles and winding in, should not change with multiplier reel

I think people just accepted the idea that multipliers were right hand retrieve

-I have converted a lot of fishermen to

left hand, and they say their arms ache a lot less after an hours casting

I asked an ex-ABU employee who now services old Abu and Abu-Garcia reels, and he said right handed multipliers were an American idea everyone just copied-very few lefthand multis for sale

    in 60's 70's 80's
