I sang this song at a folk life festival a few weeks ago. A lady came up to me wjth tears in her eyes.
She said to me
"All my life, I've wished that I could sing".
Then, with a gentle sob, she said
"But right now, more than anything else, I wish that YOU could sing"!!

As someone who just left military service, I salute you. This song is a poignant reminder of the losses we've shared as a country, and the grief we've suffered personally.
