I've said it before and will say it again...this score is one of the most effective opening soundtracks ever. It is perfect for the unsettling, yet brilliant movie that follows.

great movie. and the opening scene.. I just can't stop relating it to Lynch's Mulholland.

@ayzax14 Safe came before Mulholland Drive, but Lynch and Haynes are both excellent writer-directors.

@thesonglines strange, because the composer is Ed Tomney and he scored the ST for "Persons Unknown" starring Naomi Watts. The soundtrack of that movie instantly struck me as being reminiscent of Angelo Badalamenti

They're similar. But there's the same bleak atmosphere.
