I loved my JBL.! i've had many other brands... but jbl... the best FOR ME.! that thing was amazing.! u could hear ir from blocks n i only had 2 12''.! my next investment JBL again.! 15''.!

why is it necessary to have two amps?

it is not necessary, but if u want to put more speakers inside ur car ull need a different amp for that.
