Let's Play Pokémon Crystal - Part 59

After the always annoying first comment claim, which I covered a few times already, I introduce two more no-nos to the list of don'ts: flooding my inbox with your videos, and begging for plugs. This isn't to say I won't plug an LP I like, but explicitly asking for one is the best way to NOT get one - and usually, if you need to beg for one, odds are your material wasn't going to get one anyway. I'm picky, and with the amount of LPers out there, I can afford to be.

As for actual Pokémon action, the meeting with Jasmine and Ampharos ends up with her sending me to the end of the world for a rare cure-all. Which even cures the spontaneous need to form roadblocks. Yeah, I found that sketchy too.

Also, remember about 40 videos back when I blasted Kurt for making those useless balls? Well, I took a close look at the Heavy Ball, and while the formula is strange and open to speculation, everyone I've talked to about it agrees that the bonus is added straight to the catch rate, multiplying some of those superheavyweights' catch rates by spectacular amounts. And while it was meh in GSC, with Lugia being the only Pokémon where Heavy Balls were better enough than Ultras to justify using them, the newer legendaries are going to change everything in HGSS. Here's the list of Pokémon where they're better than Ultras:

2.2x: Snorlax, Steelix

7x: Kyogre, Groudon

7.7x: Lugia, Metang, Regirock, Registeel, Rayquaza

11x: Metagross, Heatran, Regigigas, Giratina, Arceus

I suppose so, if ELEVEN TIMES the regular catch rate still isn't enough for you, meaning the only way to do better is to hack limitless Master Balls. It is terrible on most stuff, yes, but the Pokémon that really matter tend to stay in Heavy Balls.

In HGSS, they should actually add more stuff onto the Whirl Islands, just like the anime, and one would be happy if they added the Whirl Cup Competition...lol...only for Water Pokemon

dude your awsome O_O right when you said "And I'll just catch Ho-Oh with a master ball" I caught my Ho-Oh with an ultra ball :D that seems to happen alot to me... i find and or catch a pokemon somone else is talking about O_O
