Beethoven / Maria João Pires, 1974: Piano Sonata in D minor, Op. 31, No. 2 (Tempest) - Allegretto

Maria João Pires performs the third movement of the Beethoven "Tempest" sonata, Op. 31, No. 2 in D minor. I created this video from a cassette I purchased in the late 1970s (depicted in the video above), issued on the Erato label, serial number MCE 55034.

Movement 3: Allegretto

With the exception of the images of the artist and of Beethoven in the last third of this video, all images were taken from the cassette and the cassette notes.

As is the case with the digitization of most cassette tape, there is some hiss and mild distortion in this video. Apologies.
