Afternoon of a Faun, Part 1

A ballet based on the poem by French poet, Stephane Mallarme. Created in 1985 by choreographer Barry Moreland when Artistic Director of West Australian Ballet

  • Almost spooky, distinctly mysterious, very nebulous (oh, and not to mention its beautiful). The actual ballet seems to get the aesthetics down (the lighting, movements, etc.) But, I like listening to Debussy and letting my mind/imagination wander off :)

  • @Geena6789 I believe he meant that Freddie was INSPIRED by this, not that he inspired it :p this is way older. Peace out

  • this ballet isn't inspired by Freddie Mercury -- it's a variation of dancer/choreographer Vaslav Nijinsky's controversial (and beautiful!) piece from the early 20th century.

  • i love this man"s work . he choreographed a brilliant piece years ago called prodical son music : scott joplin , for london festival ballet , i wish someone had a video of that
