Dubway Days - Vienna Teng (Part 1 of 5)

Vienna Teng and Ben Arthur debut our brand-new series, Dubway Days. The two artists have just one day to write and record an original song together. Take a look at this first installment of the five-video series, with Vienna and Ben getting started early in the morning. Find out what happens next by tuning in every day of this week for each new installment. The finale (Part 5) airs this Friday.

Vienna Teng is a Taiwanese-American singer-songwriter originally from California, who has released four studio albums. She has played classical piano since the age of 5. Ben Arthur is a fellow singer-songwriter who has several albums under his belt, and has opened for such acts as Tori Amos and Dave Matthews Band. He has been featured as the "Song of the Day" on NPR, and reviewed by Rolling Stone. His latest album, Roadkill, is a collection of live songs.

Dubway Studios are located in New York City. Numerous broadcast outlets record there, including PBS, MTV and the Discovery Channel. Artists such as Devendra Banhart, Patti Smith, They Might Be Giants, Alicia Keys and Cat Power has also recorded there.

I took a tour this studio right before they moved to downtown Manhattan. Everybody seemed pretty friendly there. I planned to move to this city sometime this year. Can't wait to check out their new surroundings.
