To prove how vulnerable your personal information is, Internet Explorer 8 recreated notorious internet scams--live, off the web-- in the most street-smart city in world: New York. Watch what happened.

  • @RitvarLegend Sorry, IE8 can't cure stupidity.

  • This is silly... if you want security, DON'T USE INTERNET EXPLORER! It doesn't matter what version you use, IE is the WORST browser available. Use any other modern browser and you're better off!

  • Go cuzzz!!

  • Wow it protect you from about 1% of common scams per day. just as good as IE8 cousin Dora the explorer as a detective. (Can you help me find the evidence)

  • More like IE8 prevents 3 million scams when no one uses it because IE doesn't get a chance to access the scams like it does all the time

    Worst browser ever made!

  • @mangoscango until IE8 came out.

  • @macguyg4 Well, thats how scientific experiments on human behavior are often done. Otherwise it would effect the results as people will often behave differently if they are given certain information. If you knew that was a fake bank, you wouldn't fill it out. However, there are people (not all) who would think it was a real bank and fill out the information if they didn't know. Which is the point of the commercial.

  • Love this commercial - especially the guy who says "500 American"

It's probably to insinuate that it is currently blocking something. Infact, the current URL in the bar reads something like "thegreateroffshorebankandtrust", or something to that effect, which is the same on the sign at the beginning. The are at least competent enough to make sure that everything in the ad is correct (not sure about the browser though...)

  • Thw website to download IE8 is a scam too...See the red(pink?)address bar in 0:28

    Microsoft just say the truth;)
