I was a small child when this storyline first developed! Although I grew up in a house utterly devoted to Days of Our Lives and still remember Don & Marlena as an iconic soap couple, my childhood memory can't remember how they came to be...I remember Doug & Julie and Mickey & Maggie, too!!!! Thank you for bringing back a glimpse of the fave soap of my childhood!

That's right. Their first wedding was interrupted because Donna was on a ledge threatening to kill herself. When Marlena and Don left to go help her, Don actually fell off the ledge trying to save the teenager. Months of angst and separation followed.

let's see...deeva came on the show in 76 and that scene was from sometime during her first six months on the show so she was fairly new at that point. maybe that's how they pronounced it back then? who knows???

How long was Dee on the show at this time? Because at 0:42, she called herself "Mar-leena" I never heard her pronounce it like that before, and don't much like it either. LOL!
