At 20:20 Allentown Comm Center struck the box for 10th & Allen Sts. for a car fire next to a building. Engines 9, 6, 10, Truck 2 and Battalion Chief 3 (Scheirer) respond.

Newsworking is riding with B/C 3 to the scene. Enroute Comm Center advises they are receiving multiple calls. As we round the corner we find an engine compartment well involved. Lt. Kutz of Engine 9 watches as a proby fireifighter works the nozzle.

The car was parked in front of a hydrant at the corner of Allen & Howard Sts. I wonder if he got a parking ticket?

FM3 (Laubach) determined the fire was caused by a battery cable failure due to excessive wires being connected there to supply stereo amplifiers. The battery wasn't capable of supplying the additional components.

  • A BC FOR A VEHICLE FIRE? COME ON

  • Multiple calls were received for a car fire next to a building, with that information received, dispatcher sent a full box that consists of 3 engines, 1 truck company and a B/C. Once on scene, the box was reduced to 2 engine companies.

  • just another example of a really slow area making the best of a call:)

  • In detroit one engine gets dispatched. We use a red line(booster line)

  • A full box for a car fire really? In baltimore City we send one engine thats all. Hell we barley put on turnout gear for a car fire

  • Good job guys!

  • Karma sucks hahaha... anyway nice work Allentown FD, got it out super quick! And I don't know why everyone is so up on the fact that they sent a BC to a car fire, I think it's a good idea.

  • What Kind of vehicle is Battalion 3?

  • @grnkl115 listen to the radio multiple calls the car is next to the house oh and not to mention IT'S A DAMN FIRE

  • @grnkl115 A car fire probably doesn't require a BC, but next to a building, absolutely. Car fires are unpredictable and they burn very hot. What's the harm of sending a BC to a car fire anyway? It's just more man power and possibilities for training or retraining.

  • God punished him for parking infront of a hydrant

  • Lol this is probably karma for parking in front of a fire hydrant.
