SO we in Alberta get to pay for sending our power to the USA, unbelievable! I think 40 years of power makes the Alberta PCs think they can do whatever they want. How can they think this is acceptable to Albertans? What do you think, Time for a Change? Go to this website to see the wiki-links cable, note this export to the USA was already in AESO's 10 year electricity plan This just confirms the PC's direct involvement. thetyee.ca/News/2011/05/26/WikileaksAlbertaElectricity
The Alberta Utilities Commission can not approve the Transmission projects. Wikileaks clearly blows the whistle on the Alberta cabinet's export plans using 3 interconnected bills (19, 36 and 50). Bill 50, the Electric Statutes Amendment Act, declared the construction of 5 transmission projects as "critical infrastructure" for Alberta. The massive overbuild makes it possible to move power generated in Fort McMurray or from proposed nuclear plants in Peace River to U.S. markets at our expense.
Why do we keep voting for the PC's? Lies, lies, and more lies. Then they take away our rights as landowners and set Alberta up for economic doom. Time to say goodbye.
The Bill 50 Transmission lines need to be stopped immediately. Wikileaks, and other news releases indicate that government has been instrumental in selling Albertans out to specific Power Companies. Bills 36 and 19 are further indications that the PC government cares nothing about Albertans and Landowner rights. We need to stop this madness.
