"Spirals"--a short story by neuro-scientist David Eagleman, from his book, SUM: Forty Tales From The Afterlives. Audio from the hilarious (yet another) CBC Radio One WireTap episode, "Spirals".

  • Hey, is there a collection of these stories (sound clips) from wiretap? If so, where can I find them? Huge fan of Eagleman!

    Thanks.

  • @rcaste I remember that there was one more of these I think in the episode after the "Spirals" episode, or two or three episodes after. I'm sure there's more; this was the first episode I first heard Eagleman's "story" and just by accident I was able to download it rather than listen to the stream on the CBC Wiretap website. You can listen to past episodes on the CBC website, or you can find all episodes on google to download (I don't know if 2011 episodes are available yet).

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SONG I NEED TO KNOW THE NAME. David Eagleman is awesome incognito is the greatest

  • very beautiful and interesting story. i found it comforting but hey we do have answers, we are the universe, we are the aware form of it. we live to understand their for the meaning of life is to understand and be aware of our existence. this wasn't the answer you were looking for i propose three options, 1) their is no answer to this question ever 2) their is an answer but we will never find it. 3) religion is the answer

  • well that's a theory.

also is it a twilight theory episode. and if it is not it should be.

  • Great book! Explore the unfathomable unlimited possibilities in the void of what is unknow!!!

  • There are forty stories of the same kind in "Sum." I think the most fascinating ones are those that present the point of view of the "god" or "gods." All these deities seem to be as puzzled as we are as to our purpose on this planet.

  • Beautyful :D!!

  • fantastic!!
