@WweHbk6 : The Beatles released it first, although Del Shannon brought it back to the States to record / release it before Beatlemania had hit America. Del released it in mid to late '63, around the time Vee Jay Records had attempted to release The Beatles' version the first time. The Beatles' version 'flopped' the 1st time, but after their debut on The Ed Sullivan Show in February '64, they re-released all their prior hits with success.
