This is the first in a series of videos in which I visit the different film locations in and around Oxford used in the Inspector Morse series.
This video is about the Pitt Rivers and the Museum of Natural History which features in the episode The Daughters of Cain.

  • some great footage - I was surprised the let you film in the museum. Really cool how you used the Inspector Morse clips in here.

  • @LeSaMilano Thanks! Yeah they only stopped me filming in the Ashmolean Museum but in the other musea it wasn't a problem.

  • Fascinating artifacts... That is one huge collection of stuff. I would get tired of looking at things yet I would want to see them all ;)

  • @fehquig Well, you'd have a job to see it all. The Pitt Rivers houses more then 500.000 artifacts, some of which were brought back from James Cooke's original travels.

  • Interesting video, Eddy. I don't know the Inspector Morse series. So I really liked it that you included footage from the show to create the context. Looks like a great museum.

    Btw, great outro!

    Best wishes,

    Luci

  • @GNYBerlin Thanks Luci. Yes I thought it would create a nice contrast to show the actual footage from the series next to the real thing.

I hope you'll get a chance to watch the Morse series. I think it's the best english crime series ever made.

  • @SparkyGerbil Haha certainly looks painful those tattoo needles :p

Thanks for your comment John :)

  • Another wonderful post Eddy.

I have visited the Pitt Rivers before.

All I can say is OUCH!!! What a way to make a mark on someone.

    Love The Daughters Of Cain.

  • @Cathsdream You know, I was wondering about those guns too :) And indeed that seems like a painful way to get a tattoo but I guess it's also meant to be a test of how tough one is with enduring pain.
